Bishop Rosecrans girls varsity soccer dominates Edison in playoff opener

Bishop Rosecrans vs Athens (10/12/23)

On the road to Athens, the Lady Bishops were hoping to pickup a non-conference win but ultimately came home empty handed.

Athens was able to pickup a single goal and hold that lead throughout the rest of the game ending the day with a 1 – 0 victory over Rosecrans.

For the game the Bishops goalie Kate Ward had three saves.

Bishop Rosecrans vs Teays Valley (10/14/23)

The Teays Valley Vikings traveled to Zanesville on a rainy Saturday Evening to take on the Bishops.

Rosecrans was holding the Vikings at bay defensively for most of the first half but Teays managed to squeeze out one goal before the intermission taking a 1 – 0 lead.

At the start of the second period, the Vikings and the Bishops were battling each other with equal vigor but the Vikings eventually wore down the Bishops’ defenses landing two more goals.

Rosecrans answered back with a goal of their own by Junior Sydnee Maxwell but it was not enough and the Vikings sailed away with the 3 – 1 victory.

For the game Bishops goalie Kate Ward had 6 saves.

Bishop Rosecrans vs Edison (10/16/23)

Rosecrans opened tournament play at home against the Edison Lady Wildcats. The game was a blowout for the Bishops as they didn’t waste any time putting 10 points on the board before the first half was over.

The score would stand for the second half of the game and the Bishops took a 10 – 0 shutout against the Wildcats.

For the game Senior Avery Maxwell had 1 goal, Junior Lillian Dosch had 2 goals, freshman Cecelia Shonk had 1 goal, sophomore Jackie Connell had 1 goal, junior Sydnee Maxwell had a hat-trick, freshman Mallory Moody had 1 goal, and senior Abby Solt had 1 goal.

Junior Kate Ward was awarded the shutout as the goalie for the Bishops.
