Lady Dawgs soccer ends regular season 9-6-1 with two final shutouts, looks to playoffs on October 21st

The Tri-Valley girls varsity soccer team ended their regular season with two big shutouts to show that they were ready for post-season play.

The Lady Dawgs traveled to West Muskingum for their matchup with the Tornadoes on Thursday, October 5th. The game seemed like it would be a very tight race with both teams battling back and fourth with a scoreless first half.

The second half of the matchup was neck and neck as well until Maddie Garber broke open the scoring with a kick past the goalie with just fifteen minutes left in the game to take a 1 – 0 lead.

Zoey White grabbed the number two score for Tri-Valley with a kick-in from a corner kick to set the score to 2 – 0.

The big score of the game to put the final touch on it was a 17-yard free kick from the sideline by Savannah Rexroad with only three minutes left to play, sealing the shutout with the 3 – 0 victory.

Back at home against nearby Coshocton Lady Redskins, the Scotties were on top of their game again taking the lead in the first half of the game was Gabbi Matz.

Zoey White found the net after the intermission to pump the lead up to 2 – 0 against the Redskins. Nevaeh Peffers took a shot that zipped passed the goalie to make it 3 – 0 Tri-Valley.

Maddie Garber put the final seal on the game with the 4 – 0 shutout victory shot. Garber and Peffers both had an assist for the game. Mackenzie Harvey had 6 saves in the goal for her 7th shutout.

The Lady Dawgs travel to Delaware Hayes on Saturday, October 21st for their playoff opener.
