Geraldine Zylinsky will serve on the Zane State College Foundation Board of Directors. She was sworn in at the Board of Directors’ meeting on November 14, 2023.
She joins the Foundation Board with a rich College history of nearly 20 years. Zylinsky served as a College Trustee from 2003 until 2022 and was the Trustee Liaison to the Foundation Board for many years.
“Serving 19 years on the Board of Trustees provided me with a wealth of College knowledge and history. I am excited to join the Board of Directors and support Zane State’s vision of A Promising Future for Every One. I am honored to join a group of community members dedicated to the College’s vision,” Zylinsky shared.
Geraldine graduated from Meredith Business College and has been a licensed insurance agent for the State of Ohio since 1985. She is the owner and president of Zylinsky Insurance Agency in Zanesville.
“Gerry has been a wonderful friend to the College, and she understands Zane State’s value to the community. Through her extensive community service, she has shown herself to be a strong leader, and we are excited to have her knowledge and connections join an already strong Board of Directors,” President Chad Brown said.
Throughout her career, Geraldine has been an active member of the community. She is a Charter Member of Zanesville Daybreak Rotary, a Board Member of Quality Care Partners, Hills of Ohio Planned Giving Committee, Genesis Spirit of Women Advisory Board, Helen Purcell Board of Lady Managers, Beaux Arts Club, Zanesville Museum of Art, Helen Purcell Development Council, and a member of Zanesville Country Club. Geraldine has volunteered at Bethesda Hospital and Genesis HealthCare System since 1973. She previously served on the boards of Genesis HealthCare Foundation, Muskingum County Community Foundation, Muskingum County Business Incubator, Genesis Advisory Board, and Zanesville Bi-Centennial Committee. Geraldine was Chairperson for many fundraisers planned by the various boards she served.
Although working with her clients regarding their insurance and investment needs is gratifying, her family and friends are the most important treasures in her life. Her husband of 51 years, David, passed away in 2022. They have a son, Dustin, and two cherished cats, Casey and Carrie, adopted from the local Animal Shelter. She aims to make Zanesville a better place for people to live and raise their families and tries to be the best she can be at whatever she does.
