Muskingum vs John Carroll (3/29)
The Muskies traveled to University Hts in Ohio to play the John Carroll Blue Streaks. True to their name the Streaks flew past the Muskie’s defenses scoring five points while shutting them out and taking a 10 – 1 lead into the halftime break. The punishment continued through the remainder of the game as the game was lost to John Carroll by a score of 21 – 2.
Muskingum vs Otterbein (3/23)
In their home OAC opener, the Muskies hosted the Otterbein Cardinals. From the opening draw, the Cardinals were on a roll while holding the Fighting Muskies at a crawl. At the end of the first quarter, Otterbein had mounted a 4 – 1 lead furthered in the second quarter by another six times that the Cardinals found the net taking the first half of the game by a score of 10 – 2.
The second half of the game saw the Muskies find their footing battling through a 5 – 6 point third inning followed by Otterbein capping their scoring in the final minutes at 22 while the Muskies managed to struggle out a final score of 10.
Muskingum vs Saint Vincent (3/20)
The Fighting Muskies traveled to Latrobe, Pa. on Wednesday to battle the Saint Vincent Bearcats. Although the first few minutes of the game couldn’t have seemed more evenly matched, it wasn’t long before the Muskies took control of the game leaving the Bearcats with a 10 – 6 deficit at halftime.
After the break, the Muskingum completely dominated the field taking St. Vincent to task on every play and racking up a 7 – 0 quarter to end the third quarter up 17 – 6. In the final minutes of the game the Bearcats were able to slow down the Muskies a bit and throw in one more score, but Muskingum still added another four points and ended the game with a huge 21 – 7 victory.
