Bishop Rosecrans battle through a winning season picking up five of the last seven games

Bishop Rosecrans vs Miller (4/29)

The team from Miller came to Zanesville to face the Bishops on Monday.  After four innings with no score, the Falcons had back-to-back single-run innings in the fifth and sixth taking a 2 – 0 lead.  In the seventh and eighth innings, the Bishops came back with two two-run innings to win the game 4 – 2.

Bishop Rosecrans vs Crooksville (4/27)

At home on Saturday against Crooksville, the Bishops were hoping for the same results they had on the road.  Both teams went two for two in the first inning with the Bishops following up with another two runs in the bottom of the third to take a 4 – 2 lead.  By the bottom of the fifth inning, Rosecrans was up 7 – 3.  Crooksville came from behind in the top of the seventh inning with a seven-run blowout to take the lead at 10 – 7.  The Bishops tried to catch up but were only able to get one final run and they went down 10 – 8 against Crooksville.

Bishop Rosecrans vs Millersport (4/26)

The Bishops traveled to Millersport on Friday.  After two scoreless innings, Rosecrans had a massive six-run third inning that they never looked back from.  Millersport landed one run in the bottom of the sixth, but the Bishops went on to score two runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth innings to take the game 11 – 1. 

Bishop Rosecrans vs Grove City Christian (4/25)

A last-minute call from the umpire as the team walked off the field Thursday led to Grove City taking the game from a tied position to the final score of 5 – 2.  The Bishops took a two-run lead in the first inning as Grove City answered with two in the top of the second inning in order for the game to sit tied for the next five innings.  After what the Bishops thought was the end of the top of the eighth they started to leave the field in order to switch sides for their last at-bat when the umpire called them back to the field.  In the next few at-bats, the boys from Grove City tacked on three final runs and the Bishops lost the game 5 – 2.

Bishop Rosecrans vs Berne Union (4/24)

The boys from Rosecrans went to visit Berne Union on Wednesday.  The Rockets were the first to score with a 1 – 0 lead in the bottom of the first inning that they held onto until the top of the third inning when the Bishops scored two runs on wild pitches to take the lead 2 – 1.  In the top of the fourth inning, Rosecrans landed a number of singles leading to a five-run inning for the team and a 7 – 1 lead.  Berne Union tried to regain their lead but were unsuccessful as the Bishops won the game with a 15 – 5 score.  

Bishop Rosecrans vs Beallsville Doubleheader (4/20)

For Saturday’s doubleheader at Beallsville, the Bishops were ready to play.  Even though the Blue Devils took the first lead with a score of 4 – 0 by the end of the third inning in game one.  Rosecrans batting lineup woke up in the fourth inning grabbing four runs in the fourth, five runs in the fifth, a run in the sixth, and four final runs in the seventh to take game one by a score of 14 – 6.

During game two the Bishops took a score of 1 – 0 in the top of the first that was quickly tied by Beallsville, but after that it was all Bishops all of the way as the scored in every following inning to the tune of winning the game by a score of 19 – 1 by the end of the fifth inning.
