Zanesville vs Licking Valley (4/29)
On Monday, Zanesville hosted the Licking Valley Panthers who came in with a roar as they took a 2 – 0 lead right from the top of the first inning. By the top of the second inning, their lead had jumped up to 6 – 0 and just kept climbing as they held the Blue Devils scoreless with the Panther’s Carter Sopher earning the shutout in the devastating 16 – 0 win over Zanesville.
Zanesville vs Licking Heights (4/25)
Back on the road on Thursday, this time to Licking Heights, the Blue Devils were held to almost a standstill by the Licking Heights’ Blake Caldwell who pitched a near shutout. Licking Heights grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fourth with two runs followed by two more in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 4 – 0 lead. In the top of the seventh inning, Zanesville got their only run when Greyson Goins was hit by a pitch driving in a run from the loaded bases. Unfortunately, that was the end of the score for the Blue Devils as they fell 4 – 1.
Zanesville vs Northridge (4/24)
Zanesville sailed off to face the Vikings on Wednesday in Northridge where they took a 2 – 0 lead right out of the gate. Northridge came back to grab a run in the bottom of the first inning but that would be their only score for the game as the Blue Devils laid on runs in almost every inning to take a massive 12 – 1 win back home to Zanesville.
Zanesville vs Claymont (4/23)
At Jay Payton Baseball Field in Zanesville on Tuesday, the Blue Devils took an early 4 – 0 lead over the Mustangs by the end of the second inning. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Zanesville picked up three more runs off of a sacrifice fly and two errors bringing their lead to 7 – 0. Claymont tried to battle back over the next few innings but was only able to muster two runs as the Blue Devils capped their score with two more runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the overall win 9 – 2
Zanesville vs Harrison Central (4/20)
The Blue Devils outhit Harrison Central by 10 to eight but still walked away with a very close 5 – 4 loss on Saturday at Maseroski Field. Zanesville lit up the scoreboard in the top of the second inning with a sacrifice fly from Noah Darnes drove in a run followed by a run off of a single by Mahki Murray to take a 2 – 0 lead.
Harrison came back in the bottom of the second inning to tie up the game and them pushed forward with two more runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 4 – 2 lead. By the bottom of the fifth inning, the Blue Devils were down 5 – 2, they came back in the top of the seventh inning to grab two final runs but it was not enough to overcome their hosts and they went home with a 5 – 4 loss.
