John Glenn vs Philo (4/29)
Sydney Marshall went four for four at bat, while teammate Estelle Matheney went three for four in a great show against visiting Philo Lady Electrics. By the end of the fifth inning, the Lil’ Muskies had a nice 7 – 0 lead. Philo tried to battle back in the last two innings of the game but they were only able to get three runs and the game ended with a score of John Glenn 9 – Philo 3.
John Glenn vs Indian Valley (4/27)
Even though Sydney Marshall had multiple home runs, the Lady Muskies were not able to overcome the visiting Lady Braves on Saturday. Indian Valley didn’t stall in opening the scoring as they landed four runs in each of the first two innings to take a quick 8 – 0 lead. John Glenn took the lead in the bottom of the sixth with a six-run inning thanks to a homer by Marshall landing the score at JG 9 – IV 8. The Braves answered back by tying up the game in the top of the seventh inning and then grabbing three runs in the top of the eighth. The Lil’ Muskies came close but fell one shy on the inning to lose the game 12 – 11.
John Glenn vs Strasburg-Franklin (4/26)
In a non-conference visit to Strasburg on Friday, the Lil’ Muskies faced the Lady Tigers. Strasburg’s Amelia Spidell pitched a shutout against John Glenn while her team racked up four points in the third inning followed by two points in the fourth, and three points in the fifth inning to take the game 9 – 0.
John Glenn vs Crooksville (4/25)
With the bus still warm, the ladies from New Concord headed to Crooksville on Thursday to face the lady Ceramics. Again the Muskies took the lead with a three-run first-inning. That lead held until the fifth quarter when they added two more runs followed by a run in each consecutive inning. After seven innings John Glenn took a 7 – 1 win over the Lady Ceramics.
John Glenn vs Tri-Valley (4/24)
On their visit to Dresden, the girls from John Glenn were hoping to bring home another win. A single from Marshall and Boothe led to a quick 2 – 0 lead over the Scotties, but by the end of the sixth inning, both teams were tied at three points each. That all changed in the top of the eighth inning when the Muskie’s batting lineup lit up the scoreboard again with help from a late-inning triple by Kinley Porter to finish the inning with six more runs taking a final victory tally of 9 – 3 against Tri-Valley.
John Glenn vs River View (4/23)
The Lady Black Bears made the trip to New Concord on Tuesday still reeling from the loss the night before. River View grabbed a run to take a 1 – 0 lead in the top of the first inning, but the Lil’ Muskies answered back with three runs in the bottom of the inning. The Lady Bears scored a run in the top of the third inning only to be stymied by a nine-run inning for the Muskies that would take their lead to 13 – 2 ending the game in the fifth inning after River View was unable to recover.
John Glenn vs River View (4/22)
The Lil’ Muskies started their visit to Warsaw off in style as they hit the scoreboard with a 3-run homerun by Sydney Marshall to open up an 8-run first inning against the Lady Black Bears. River View landed two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning but that was the total of their score for the game as John Glenn came back to add another four to their tally taking a massive 12 – 2 win.
John Glenn vs New Philadelphia (4/20)
The Quakers took a walk-off victory on Saturday in New Philadelphia. The hosts took a quick 1 – 0 lead in the bottom of the first inning that was doubled by the Lil’ Muskies in the top of the third inning to take the lead at 2 – 1. Both teams were tied at three points each by the bottom of the sixth inning but then in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Quaker’s Sarah Ciereszewski doubled to score a run and won the game by a score of 4 -3.
