Philo Lady Electrics almost broke even as they met with MVL challengers

Philo vs John Glenn (4/29) away

On the road in New Concord on Monday, the Philo girls were coming off of a great doubleheader that left them feeling ready for anything.  Unfortunately, John Glenn proved them wrong by taking a 7 – 0 lead after five.  The Lady Electrics tried to battle back in the sixth and seventh innings but the damage was done and the Lil’ Muskies got the 9 – 3 win.

Philo vs River View doubleheader (4/27) away

In game one of a doubleheader against the Lady Black Bears, Philo took control of the game right away with a 1-0 lead in the first inning followed by a huge seven-run inning at the bottom of the second.  The Lady Electrics were not finished as they continued to shock their competition building a massive 15 – 5 victory.

Any hopes that game two would be better for the River View team were squashed in the top of the first inning when Philo took a 5 – 0 lead off of a pair of doubles and a single.  The first score for River View came in the bottom of the fifth inning when they scraped out two runs but were still down 8 – 2. After seven innings the Philo girls walked away with a 10 – 4 victory.

For the Day Philo’s Caitlyn Rose went seven hits for seven at-bats, including three singles, two doubles, a triple, and a solo home run.

Philo vs Morgan (4/26)

After traveling south to Morgan, the Lady Electrics were hoping to pickup a win.  The first two innings of the game went without a score from either team.  The Raiders then picked up their bats and went to work landing a pair of three-run innings to take a 6 – 0 lead. Philo tied up the game in the top of the sixth inning after scoring six runs on two singles and a double.  The two teams held an 8 – 8 tie going into the bottom of the eighth inning, but a triple from Augenstein gave them the run they needed for the walk-off 9 – 8 victory over Philo.

Philo vs Meadowbrook (4/25)

Meadowbrook didn’t seem as inviting for the Lady Electrics on Thursday.  With a three-run advantage after the first two innings the Duncan Falls team knew they had their work cut out for them.  The Lady Colt’s pitcher, McKendel Boyer made sure that Philo didn’t score any runs on her watch.  The Colts added one more run before winning the game 4 – 0.

Philo vs Maysville (4/23)

Looking for a repeat at home the Lady Electrics hosted the Lady Panthers on Tuesday.  This time the only lead that Maysville had was a 1 – 0 lead in the top of the first inning.  The Electrics were quick to tie that score and move on to add 11 more runs over the next three innings, eventually taking down the Panthers by a score of 14 – 4.

Philo vs Maysville (4/22)

The girls from Philo headed over to Maysville on Monday to play the Lady Panthers.  By the end of the second inning, the Lady Electrics had a 4 – 2 lead.  Maysville was able to tie the game at six in the fifth inning but Philo added eight more runs over the next two innings to take the game 14  – 6.

Philo vs Athens (4/20)

When the Lady Bulldogs arrived from Athens on Saturday their hosts from Duncan Falls were eager to greet them.  And by greet them, I mean taking a very fast 3 – 0 lead over the team in after just one inning.  Philo’s Kyleigh McGraw held the Bulldogs back from scoring.  At the end of six and a half innings, the Lady Electrics kept a 9 – 0 win for themselves.
