The Fighting Muskies win two but lose three in final weeks of the season

Muskingum vs Otterbein doubleheader (4/27)

While in Otterbein on Saturday, the Muskies were hoping to get a couple of wins from their doubleheader.  Game one started off with the Cardinals taking a 2 – 0 lead after three innings the two teams tied up a 3 a piece by the ninth inning forcing them into extra innings.  Otterbein came back to grab the winning two runs in the bottom of the eleventh inning.  

The Cardinals took a 5 – 0 lead as of the second inning in game two, the Muskies battled all the way to the top of the eighth inning where they landed their last two runs for the game but they still fell to Otterbein 10 – 3.

Muskingum vs Bethany (4/25)

The Bisons traveled to New Concord on Thursday to play the Fighting Muskies.  Muskingum grabbed a 2 – 0 lead in the first inning and pumped their lead all the way up to 14 – 0 after six innings.  The Bisons tried to make a comeback in the seventh inning but only managed one run so they lost to Muskingum 14 – 1.

Muskingum vs Heidelberg doubleheader (4/20)

The team from Heidelberg made the trek to New Concord on Saturday to face the Fighting Muskies baseball team.  Both teams scored a run in the first inning of game one, and by the end of the fourth inning, Muskingum had a 6 – 1 lead.  Heidelberg got one more run but it was not enough as the Muskies took the first game 14 – 2.

During game two Heidelberg took a 4 – 1 lead in the first inning but the two teams were tied at 7 after four innings.  Heidelberg grabbed three more two-run innings to finish game two up 13 – 9.
