The Muskingum County Family YMCA hosted a Rotary Club Pickleball Tournament on June 2, 2024. The tournament was a round-robin style with 12 participants.
This was the first Zanesville Rotary Club pickleball tournament. It was held as a fundraiser for the Rotary Club, so the proceeds went to supporting the Zanesville Rotary Club mission. Some of the tournament participants were members of the Zanesville Rotary Club.
The games were played to 11 points, and each participant played 11 games. The highest possible score was 121 points total.
In first place was Scott Webb, with a score of 113. In second place was Dave King, with a score of 111. In third place was Cathie Akins, with a score of 100.
The prizes were chosen by the top 3 from an award table. Prizes included custom pickleball gear bags, pickleballs, and performance pickleball equipment and accessories.
Everyone who signed up for the tournament also received a gift voucher for Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl for their participation.
The awards were provided and presented by Everett Jackson of the Franklin Printing Company, who also assisted in the directing and format of the tournament at the Muskingum County Family YMCA.
Jared Hall is the Muskingum County Family YMCA Program Director and provided the tournament registration and administrative functions.
The Muskingum County Family YMCA donated its gymnasium space to be used for the tournament.
