Vs Maysville Panthers (6/12)
After meeting up with the Maysville Panthers on a Wednesday, Tri-Valley tried to keep them from scoring in the top of the first inning but they let one slip by as Hittle grounded out to Channels allowing Hirtle to score taking a quick 1 – 0 lead over TV. The bottom of the first inning was a different story as Burkey scored on a walk, Leas scored on a walk, Hindel and Channels scored on a single by Walker who hit a ground ball to the pitcher’s mound, after which Griffith hit a single to left field to score Sine running their tally to 5 – 1. Neither team scored in the second inning and Tri-Valley went home with the win.
Vs Buckeye Trail 7th Grade (6/9)
Back on the road, this time to Buckeye Trail, the boys from Tri-Valley had a little more of a challenge but they took to the scoreboard first with a double by Leas that brought in Burkey, followed by a single by Patterson that allowed Leas to score to take an early 2 – 0 lead. Buckeye Trail grabbed a run in the bottom of the first off of a passed ball narrowing the lead to 2 – 1. Both teams went without a score in the second inning while Hindel hit a single to right field in the top of the third to score Leas and jump the lead up to 3 – 1. Tucker scored for Buckeye Trail off of a grounder in the bottom of the fifth inning by TV still led 3 – 2.
At the top of the sixth inning, the Tri-Valley boys went back to batting as Hindel scored on an error followed by Patterson who also scored on an error. Jovan Walker hit a line drive to left to bring in Channels for the final score of the day taking a 6 – 2 victory over Buckeye Trail.
Vs Meadowbrook (6/6)
On the road to Meadowbrook, the boys from Tri-Valley were ready to play, and just like their game against John Glenn, they opened the game with an 11-run first inning. Channels singled on a fly to center scoring Burkey. Leas scored when Sine was walked. Hindel scored on a walk. Channels scored on a walk. Garrett singled to shortstop scoring Sine. Burkey singled to left scoring Cam Harrop. Leas was hit by a pitch which brought home Warden. Hindel singled to center scoring Griffith and Burkey. Patterson singled to center to score Leas. Hindel scored off of a single by Channels to round finish out the inning.
Meadowbrook grabbed two runs in the bottom of the first inning off of a double by Dahmen that scored Rogers and Dodson. After an inning with no scores, the Tri-Valley team went right back to work landing seven runs bringing their tally to 18 – 2, but they were not finished yet, they tacked on three more runs in the fourth inning for good measure taking a 21 – 2 win.
Vs John Glenn (6/4)
On Tuesday evening in Frew Park in Frazeysburg, the Tri-Valley 7th grade team took on the John Glenn team. The boys from Tri-Valley didn’t waste any time showing their dominance as they shut out the John Glenn team in the top of the first inning and followed it up with an 11-run bottom of the first with a double by Tyler Hindel that scored Drew Leas. Alex Patterson stepped up to the plate to hit a single into center field driving in Hindel. Nolan Channels doubled on a fly ball to right allowing Patterson to score. Channels then scored on a passed ball. Austin Sine scored on a passed ball followed by Owen Garrett hitting a single to shortstop bringing in Weston Warden. Jeremiah Griffith scored on a passed ball. Garrett scored on a passed ball followed by Bronc Burkey who also scored on a passed ball. Tyler Hindel hit a single to the pitcher allowing Leas to score. Hindel ended the runs for the inning scoring on a passed ball.
After three quick outs from John Glenn, Tri-Valley was back at with Jeremiah Griffith scoring on a passed ball, Adam Kennedy scoring on a passed ball, and Owen Garrett grounded out to third allowing Warden to score. Hindel doubled on a fly ball to left scoring Burkey. Channels grounded out to second base scoring Leas bringing the inning’s final tally to 16 – 0.
The bottom of the third inning was almost a carbon copy with Burkey singling on a ground ball to third allowing Griffith to score. Warden then scored on a throw. Hindel stepped up to bat and hit a double to center field scoring Garrett, Burkey, and Leas to finish the game with a score of 21 – 0.
