If you are looking for a career where you can leverage advanced technical computer skills, thrive in high-pressure environments, and solve complex problems, then a future in cybersecurity may be perfect for you. Zane State College is excited to equip you with the skills required to excel in this dynamic field.

Zane State College is the proud recipient of a $350,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). This significant investment will enable the College to expand and enhance its cybersecurity training programs, preparing learners for high-demand careers in cybersecurity, cyber management, cyber analytics, and cyber networking.

The award announcement was made earlier this month by U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, who emphasized the critical need for skilled cybersecurity professionals in today’s digital age. “Cybersecurity is a growing field – Ohio families and businesses rely on workers in this industry to keep their sensitive data safe and protected,” said Senator Sherrod Brown. “By investing in the next generation of cybersecurity technicians, we are keeping our businesses secure and creating more opportunities for Ohioans to get good-paying jobs.”

Zane State College currently offers coursework in cybersecurity and cyber networking, all designed to align with industry standards and certifications. Whether you are new to the field or looking to enhance your existing skills, Zane State has options available in eight-week formats, offered during Summer, Fall, and Spring semesters.

Professor Barb Miller highlighted the benefits of the online format, stating, “The courses are offered online and are very hands-on oriented. Because they are online, they are perfect for individuals who need a flexible schedule. If you are new to the field or want to add to your existing skills, there are options available.”

The demand for qualified cybersecurity professionals continues to rise as businesses increasingly seek to protect their data and ensure customer privacy. Dean of Business, Engineering, and IT Marcie Moore emphasized the importance of the NSF grant, saying, “This investment from the National Science Foundation to help us strengthen our Cybersecurity programs speaks to this growing need. Our faculty are ready to improve the program and expand opportunities for our current and future students to be qualified for jobs that do not even exist yet.”
