Nita L. Reed, 91, of Dresden, died Monday morning, July 8, 2024, at her home.
Born March 19, 1933, in Portersville, Ohio, she was the only child of the late Gerald M. and Lena (Bankes) Buckley and a 1950 graduate of McCluney High School. Nita was a devoted housewife and homemaker; she adored spending time with her family and pets. She attended Dresden United Methodist Church and the Dresden Senior Center. Nita enjoyed embroidering, listening to music and singing along.
Surviving are her four children, Karen (Thomas) Crawford, Barbara (Jack) Lloyd, Nancy Hesky, and Daniel Reed; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a special friend, Bill Knupp and sister-in-law, Louise Cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Samuel Reed; a daughter, Carol Cody; two grandchildren, David Reed Dotson Jr. and Staff Sergeant Buddy Kinney; a great great grandson, Keaton Reed; and foster sister, Sarah Bankes.
Family and friends visited 2-4pm & 6-8pm, Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil and Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11:00am, with Pastor Dan Wells officiating.
Nita will be buried at Zion Cemetery, Portersville, Ohio.
