Young entrepreneurs team up with Smore Baskets adding trendy options for Millennials and Gen Z shoppers

There are so many amazing must-stop shops in Dresden, and what amazes many shoppers is that many of those shops are huge and house so many products that you could easily get lost in them for hours. One of those shops is the sprawling Smore Baskets located at 405 Main Street. Earlier this year, in February, business owners Marissa Coulter and Kendra McNutt were offered space inside Smore Baskets to open their brick-and-mortar shop.

“Marissa and I had a vision and a dream and Smore Baskets owners, Ronnie (Rhodes) and Robert (Hamel), made that come true for us by offering a brick-and-mortar space,” said McNutt.

The boutique enhances the shopping experience in Smore Baskets bringing new trendy inventory and a youthful approach to marketing.

“When the ladies approached us about the Daily Drip we thought it was a good fit to weave in something Dresden didn’t have. The partnership has brought in people that were not basket customers and thus grown our reach as well,” Hamel added.

“This partnership has helped Marissa and I make our dream a reality, and in return, helped Smore Baskets reach a bigger audience through promoting and advertising via social media. We are a one-stop-shop and we welcome all,” McNutt added.

“The Smore title can be interpreted to be ‘Smore than baskets’ or ‘you need Smore Baskets’ based on the customer. In addition to anything Longaberger, we have home decor, a large selection of Bath and Bodyworks items, gift cards, bags, and Smore,” explained Hamel.

The selection offered between Smore Basket’s two buildings is astounding. The back building is dedicated to mostly Longaberger baskets while the over a half dozen rooms in the front building feature a mix of Longaberger pottery, baskets, and a wonderful spread of holiday decor and baskets in themed holiday rooms.

“We were operating a store in Maryland and decided due to the extent of our Longaberger inventory that Dresden just made sense. When we expanded to our current location the layout of the building drove our concept of holiday rooms and we started to source additional holiday inventory,” said Hamel.

The holiday decor does not end there. Sister store, Smore Christmas, is located on the next block at 508 Main Street. This dedicated Christmas shop encompasses the spirit of Christmas all year long.

You can expect to find a gambet of products in The Daily Drip including Stanley tumblers, earrings, purses and bags, sunglasses, shoes, cute outfits, hair clips, and car fresheners, just to name a few items. They also offer complimentary coffees and refreshers from their coffee bar.

“The Daily Drip was opened with the intent to sell high-quality luxury and designer items at affordable prices. We stay on top of current trends to provide the most up-to-date apparel, accessories, and everyday items,” explained McNutt.
