The beloved Budweiser Clydesdales have a very busy schedule making appearances at various events throughout the country this year as part of a celebration of their partnership Folds of Honor. One of the stops on their national tour included a multi-day stay, July 17 – 23, at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds.
Folds of Honor is a non-profit organization that provides educational scholarships to the families of U.S. service members and first responders who have fallen or are disabled. The Anheuser-Busch company has worked with Folds of Honor over the past 14 years making the partnership the longest-standing in the company’s history. Over that time, Anheuser-Busch as a whole has donated $28 million and has funded more than 5,000 scholarships for recipients of Folds of Honor educational funds.
During the Clydesdales tour across the nation, consumers of legal drinking age can purchase Budweiser in special patriotic packaging at their favorite retail establishment until Labor Day and support Folds of Honor’s mission.
The Clydesdales have been a part of Anheuser-Busch’s history for over 90 years but most of us have only seen them in commercials. A public viewing of the iconic horses allowed the community to take pictures, and see the beauty and size of the world-renowned Clydesdales up close.
Military and First Responder appreciation events took place during their time in Muskingum County and a parade across the Y-Bridge took the Clydesdales across one of Zanesville’s historic landmarks.
