The Dresden Dorados wrapped up their summer swim season this past week with the TCAL championships that took place at the Dresden Swim Center on Wednesday, July 17th.
The Tri-County Aquatic League was founded in 1971 and currently has twelve member teams located in Fairfield, Licking, Franklin, and Muskingum counties and collectively support over 1,500 swimmers each season. Each team competes in 6 dual meets during the season and a championship at the end of July.
Baltimore Sea Lions, Canal Winchester Dolphins, Chevington Woods Kingfish, Dresden Dorados, Granville Stingrays, Groveport Fighting Fish, Huntington Hills Froggers, Johnstown Jaguars, Logan Hurricanes, Moundbuilders CC Piranhas, Pataskala Porpoises, Pickerington Tiger Sharks, and the Valley View Gator make up the Tri-County Aquatic League.
The TCAL teams are split into three different divisions, this year winning teams for each division are:
Division 1
Chevington Woods Kingfish – 691
Division 2
Huntington Hills Froggers – 401
Division 3
Pickerington Tiger Sharks – 109
The Dresden Dorados pulled out third place in Division 2 with a score of 276. In the championships for the Girls 13 – 14 200yd Medley Relay the Dorados team of Stella Fuhriman, Camryn Cunningham, Lydia Collet, and Analeigh Braddock took fourth place with a time of 2:19.60. The boys team of Sean Clinard, Coen Fuhriman, Tanner Mohler, and Avery Stewart took sixth in the Boys 13 – 14 200yd Medley Relay with a time of 2:12.65.
For the Women 15 – 18 200yd Medley Relay, the team of Dani Stewart, Mia Fuhriman, Jesi Fuhriman, and Sarah Gardinsky nabbed fourth with a time of 2:07.52. Likewise for the Men 15 – 18 200yd Medley Relay the Dorados team of Liam Clinard, Tyler Mohler, Garrett Stirling, and Dallin Stirling took fourth with a time of 1:58.75.
Bryan Jiang took fifth place in the Boys 11 – 12 100yd Individual Medley with a time of 1:18.58. Jesi Fuhriman missed the top spot in the Women 15 – 18 50yd Freestyle by just over six-tenths of a second with the time of 26.26, followed in sixth place by teammate Sarah Gardinsky.
For the Men 15 – 18 50yd Freestyle Tyler Mohler took a fourth place finish with a time of 23.79. Bryan Jiang and Creed Fuhriman got fourth and fifth in the Boys 11 – 12 50yd freestyle earning times of 30.67 and 30.73 respectively. In the girls 13 – 14 50ye Freestyle Analeigh Braddock and Lydia Collet got the sixth and seventh spots with times of 29.46 and 29.48.
Tanner Mohler was the top swimmer in the Boys 13 – 14 50yd Freestyle with a time of 25.10 followed by teammate Coen Fuhriman in second place swimming in at a time of 25.99 For the Women 15 – 18 100yd Freestyle it was Mia Fuhriman in fourth with a time of 1:00.79. Tyler Mohler again showed his strength in the Men 15 – 18 100yd Freestyle with a third place finish and a time of 51.62.
Stella Fuhriman had a time of 33.53 in the Girls 13 – 14 50yd Backstroke that earned her the fourth place position. Tanner Mohler bested the competition in the Boys 13 – 15 50yd Backstroke with a time of 28.33. Sarah Gardinsky was the third-place finisher in the Women 15 – 18 100yd Backstroke with a time of 1:13.96. Garrett Stirling placed fifth in the Men 15 – 18 100yd Backstroke with a 1:08.03 time.
Coen Fuhriman got third place in the boys 13 – 14 50yd Backstroke with a time of 33.14. Creed Fuhriman nabbed fourth place in the Boys 11 – 12 50yd Butterfly with a time of 36.42. Stella Fuhriman also got fourth in the Girls 13 – 14 50yd Butterfly with a time of 31.93 followed in sixth place by teammate Lydia Collet.
Jesi Fuhriman was the third place swimmer in the Women 15 – 18 50yd Butterfly with a time of 28.67.
The Dorados team of Stella Fuhriman, Camryn Cunningham, Analeigh Braddock, and Lydia Collet took third in the Girls 13 – 14 200yd Freestyle Relay. Jess Phipps got second place in the Girls 9 – 10 25yd Backstroke with a time of 21.53. Regan Stanbery had a time of 22.75 in the Girls 8 & Under 25yd Butterfly for third place.
The Dorados will held their end-of-season pool party on Friday, July 19th, the team won a lot of big meets this summer and continues to grow every year not only in numbers but in strength and speed.
