If you like pickles, pickleball, and all things pickley (totally not a word but it should be) then you are in for a treat! The second annual Picklefest in the Park is scheduled for Saturday, August 3rd and will be held at Riverside Park (5354 N River Rd E, Zanesville) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will also be a variety of other foods, craft vendors, and a ton of fun for even those who don’t find pickles a big dill (don’t worry, we won’t judge).
A pickleball tournament will be held at the courts from the start of the event until about 11 a.m. But the fun will continue with delicious eats from tangy pickles to other tasty fare, community fun like games and face painting, and best of all, the event supports the nonprofit organization FootdWorks Alliance.
FoodWorks Alliance, Southeastern Ohio’s Regional Food Hub & Commercial Kitchen Incubator, assists food entrepreneurs and enables them to take their hobby to the next level with commercial kitchen space to rent as well as providing access to other valuable food-related knowledge and guidance. The organization has worked with women in recovery to train and hire them to prepare food, some of what has been made has been delivered to food kitchens in the community to help feed those in need.
