Alice in Wonder Land

By Alice Stratman Smith

On Monday, February 10th I came back to my condo after an appointment and found a large package on my porch. Debbie Uli, I love the Texas wildflowers on a 16X12 frame! Now I have a piece of San Saba that I can see every day and remember your friendship because I put it on the wall in my office. Debbie and her husband Tim attended Abundant Life Ministries church services in San Saba on Wednesday evenings that my husband Larry (1940-2020) pastored. Tim played his guitar at the services and helped in 2020 with some computer “stuff”. Debbie attended scrapbook workshops I had for Creative Memories at our home on Ninth Street.

In my Daily Wisdom For Women on Monday, February 10th the first sentence reads: ‘Yes the world’s a dangerous place’. Well, that’s just what I was thinking! My brother Myron (1939-2021) would say “If we didn’t have bad news we wouldn’t have any news at all!”. There will always be good days and bad days; good news and bad news. Words from a song are comforting: ‘Many things about tomorrow, I don’t seem to understand…but I know Who holds my hand.’

2 Corinthians 1:3&4…NIV…Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, Who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
