Vs Maysville (2/14)
Philo hosted Maysville Friday night at the Power Plant. The Panthers were ready to go as soon as they hit the court, dominating the game and leaving the Electrics to play catchup. In the end, Maysville went back home with a 66 – 25 win and another conference tally in their MVL record.
Philo will play John Glenn in New Concord on Friday, February 21st, at 7 PM for a tournament game.
Vs Meadowbrook (2/11)
On the road again in Byesville on Tuesday, the Electrics met up with the Colts for a non-conference game. Philo battled hard against the evenly matched defender, but ultimately the Electrics took the 69 – 65 close win.
Senior Talon Preston had 19 points, two rebounds and four steals for the Electrics. Cooper Radcliffe had 14 points, six rebounds, and eight assists. Rusty Trout had 12 points, three rebounds, two assists, and six steals. Camden Stoner had 11 points, seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Vs Warren (2/8)
After the tight loss to Tri-Valley on Friday night, the Electrics hopped on a bus to Vincent on Saturday to take on the Warren Warriors in a non-conference matchup. The Warriors took no prisoners as they smashed out an 18 – 8 first-quarter lead. After turning up the volume the Electrics were able to knock out a few more points in the second period but Warren showed no signs of stopping as they blasted through the first half of the game with a 42 – 20 lead.
With the intermission over, the Warriors were back on the path leading every turn of the game landing points all the way through the third quarter to head into the final period up 61 – 27 with a running clock. With the final buzzer just minutes away the Warriors put in their second string to finish out the game. Philo kept up, but they were not able to gain any advantage with the clock ticking down and fell to Warren by a score of 70 – 35.
Vs Tri-Valley (2/7)
Friday’s visitors were the Tri-Valley Scotties for a conference matchup against the Electrics at the Power Plant. Philo jumped out to a quick lead in the first few minutes of the game taking an 8 – 5 advantage nearing the end of the first quarter. As the game rolled on the Scotties found their way past the Electric’s defenses and pushed hard to flip the scales sending the Philo players to the halftime break down 33 – 23.
Back on the court, the Scotties continued their rule of the floor with point after point popping their lead in the third quarter to 49 – 35 over the Electrics. On the court in the fourth quarter, the Electrics tried to hold Tri-Valley back but they fell short losing the game 64 – 51.
Sophomore Carter Crabtree had 18 points for the game with three rebounds and one assist. Cooper Radcliffe had 11 points, one rebound, and four assists.
