Tri-Valley Scotties take the Big School MVL Title after beating Coshocton

Vs Coshocton (2/14)

On Coach Rich Longaberger court in Dresden on Friday, Tri-Valley hosted the Coshocton Redskins in a game where the outcome determined the share of the MVL title for the Scotties.  

From the tipoff the Dawgs had control of the ball and the court, pushing and blocking the whole way to take a huge 21 – 8 lead by the end of the first quarter.  The Redskins stepped it up in the second quarter but they still couldn’t keep up with Tri-Valley as the Scotties blasted their way to a 36 – 27 advantage before the intermission.

As the clock started ticking in the second half, the Dawgs didn’t slow down, making shots left and right and putting the Coshocton defenses through their paces leading by 10 at the end of the third period up 56 – 46 over the Redskins.

Tri-Valley could have slowed down in the final minutes of the game, but they didn’t they doubled their lead and sent Coshocton back home empty-handed with an 82 – 62 victory and locked in the sole possession of the MVL Big School Title for themselves.

Keaton Hahn had a massive 30-point game for the Scotties, Noah Nichols had 19 points, Devin Crane and Ryan Lamonica each had 11 points for the game.

The Scotties move on to play Dover in tournament play on Friday, February 21st, in Dresden game time is 7 PM.

Vs Maysville (2/11)

The Panthers hosted Tri-Valley on Tuesday in Maysville.  The two teams stayed close with Tri-Valley jumping out in front just a bit taking a 20 – 17 lead into the second quarter of play. As the buzzer for halftime drew closer the Dawgs were able to build their lead a little, sending the Panthers to halftime with a 35 – 30 point disadvantage.

Back on the court, defenses on both sides were firing on all cylinders as the Panthers pumped up the volume to close the five-point gap to end the third quarter tied at 50 each. It all came down to the last minutes of the game, both teams wanted it, but only one could walk away with the win, and in the final seconds the Scotties took a one-point advantage to win the game 65 – 64.

Keaton Hahn had 18 points for the Scotties while teammate Nohah Nichols had 12 points for the night.

Vs Philo (2/7)

On the road on Friday, the Scotties were prepared to take on their conference rivals.  As the game started out, the Scotties fell behind early on with Philo taking an 8 – 5 lead by the end of the first quarter.   After getting squared away, Tri-Valley gained their footing in the second quarter and blasted past the Electrics with a 28-point quarter leading them to a 33 – 23 lead going into halftime.

When the break ended the Scotties were back in action and didn’t miss a beat as they continued to control the court, Philo tried to keep up but by the end of the third quarter, Tri-Valley led 49 – 35. In the last timeframe, the Dawgs blew out another fifteen points to take the game with a final score of 64 – 41.
