Vs. Linsly School (4/1)
After getting off of the bus at the Linsly School on Tuesday, Tri-Valley got right to work. Gavin Harrold grounded out to third, letting Brady Kaufman score to take a 1 – 0 lead. Kade Hindel scored run number 2 on a passed ball to end the top of the 1st inning TV 2 – LNSL 0. Linsly answered back right away with a run off of a single by Murray that drove in Upton, TV 2 – LNSL 1. The Dawgs grabbed their third run in the top of the 4th inning as Carter Dinan scored on a passed ball TV 3 – LNSL 1. The Scotties came back in the top of the 4th when Brady Kaufman scored off of a ground out by Ryan Lamonica to bump up the Dawgs lead to 4 – 1. Blayne Riley then singled on a line drive to right field to let Kaden King run home for 5. Oliver Baker hit a pop fly to reach on an error while Draven Spinks scored the 6th run for the Scotties. Carter Dinan stepped up to the plate to single into center field, letting Riley and Baker score the 7th and 8th runs for the game, with the top of the 6th inning and ending with the Dawgs up 8 – 1 over the Linsly School. In the bottom ot the 6th inning, Murray doubled for Linsly, bringing home Upton to increase their score to 2. The Scotties answered back in the top of the 7th to take their final run when Ryan Lamonica scored on an error, topping the score at 9 – 2 Tri-Valley for the victory.
Vs. Newark (3/29)
When Tri-Valley visited Newark on Saturday to take on the Bulldogs, they came with one of their bats already warmed up, as Gavin Harrold started off the scoring for the day with a single to left field that drove home Ryan Lamonica and Kade Hindel to take a quick 2 – 0 lead in the top of the 1st inning. The Scotties held that 2- 0 lead throughout the rest of the game until Brady Kaufman doubled in the top of the 7th to drive in Garrett Brocklehurst to pop the lead to 3. Kade Hindel was up to bat again when he hit a single grounder to left, driving in Oliver Baker for 4. Brady Kaufman scored the fifth and final run for the Scotties off of a Balk from the Newark pitcher to end the top of the 7th up 5 – 0. After a 1,2,3, bottom of the 7th, the Dawgs walked away with the shutout win.
Vs. Garaway (3/27)
The Pirates made the trip to Dresden on Thursday to play the Scotties, and the game started slowly, with both teams going two and a half innings without a score. The Dawgs finally lit the scoreboard in the bottom of the third with a double by Kade Hindel that brought home Casen Baker for a 1 – 0 lead. Garrett Harrold grounded into a double play, but that allowed Brady Kaufman to score the second run for the Scotties 2 – 0. It wasn’t until the bottom of the 5th inning that the Dawgs would score again, with Harrold hitting a triple that pushed in Ryan Lamonica for 3. Isaiah Cullins doubled in the next at bat to land Harrold on the plate for the fourth run, ending the inning TV 4 – Garaway 0. In the top of the 7th, the Pirates grabbed a run off of a single by Hartzler 4 – 1 TV. The Dawgs answered back in the bottom of the 7th with a three-run homer by Harrold to kick the Scotties lead to 7 – 1. At the top of the 8th inning, the Pirates tried a brief rally with a single by Speedy that drove in two runs to narrow the gap with Tri-Valley still leading 7 – 3. In the bottom ot the inning, Kaufman scored on a steal of home base 8 – 3 TV. Harrold followed it up with a hard ground ball to reach on an error while Kade Hindel scored the 9th run for the Scotties to wrap up the game for the Dawgs 9 – 3 win.
Vs. Ridgewood (3/25)
On a Tuesday trip to West Lafayette, the Scotties were ready to play as they got on the board in the first inning when Ryan Lamonica doubled to center field, Gavin Harrold then doubled to left field, Kian Drummonds singled to center and Blayne Riley hit a single to center to put the Dawgs up 4 – 0 right away. The Generals grabbed a single run in the bottom of the 2nd, and Brady Kaufman answered back with a double in the top of the 3rd, driving home Baker and Riley to set the score at 6 – 1. Casen Baker scored on a passed ball to top the 3rd at TV 7 – RDGW 1. Ridgewood tried to come out of the slump, scoring two more runs for the game but Tri-Valley stayed on their goal and added three more runs of their own to grab a 10 – 3 win for the day.
