West Muskingum softball divides a two game series with Meadowbrook by one point each

When the Colts came to visit West Muskingum on Wednesday, they started out strong with a homerun off of the first batter as Ginn Homered over the right field fence to grab a 1 – 0 lead over the Tornadoes in the top of the 1st inning.  In the top of the 2nd inning, Arnold and Dickey score on passed balls, bringing the score to 3 – 0 Colts.  Meadowbrook took another run in the top of the 3rd off of a single-run homer by Sichina over the center field fence, 4 – 0 Colts. In the bottom of the 3rd inning, the Lady Tornadoes finally lit up the scoreboard as Gabbi Hammer hit a single to left field that drove in Daylee Foster for a run. In the next play Kyana Bowers hit a double that drove home Lydiah Huey and Hammer to drop the Colts lead to one at 4 – 3. Meadowbrook answered back with a home run by Norman, followed later in the inning by a two-run homer by Ginn to bump the Colts’ lead to 7 – 3.  Wiggins homered for the Colts in the top of the fifth inning to set the score at 8 – 3. Kyana Bowers doubled for the Tornadoes in the bottom of the fifth to drive home Hammer to bring the inning total to 8 – 4 Colts. Wiggins hit a ground ball for Meadowbrook, and Callahan and Ginn scored on an error, and the Colts jumped to 10 – 4. In the bottom of the 6th, Mireyha Reese hit a homer to right field to draw closer to Meadowbrook..  Huey then singled on a line drive to left field, driving in Addy Antonetz and Daylee Foster.  Bowers singled next in the inning to allow Huey to score. Calie Smith lined out to right field, pushing in Hammer to take the fifth run of the inning, closing the gap to just one run with Meadowbrook leading 10 – 9 after 6 innings. In the bottom of the 7th, a triple by Foster led to Antonetz scoring to tie the game at 10.  Bowers singled to left field, bringing home Foster for the game-winning run, taking the Colts 11 – 10.

Vs Meadowbrook (4/1)

On the bus to Byesville, the Lady Tornadoes suffered a very close loss to the Meadowbrook Colts in game one, with the Colts taking the game 8 – 7  after West held the lead for the first seven innings of the game only to have the Colts rally back for the win.

Vs. Fairfield Union (3/28)

The Lady Tornadoes swept past the Fairfield Union players on Friday with a big 14 – 4 victory, including a homer by Addy Antonetz.

Vs. Morgan (3/27)

The girls dropped the game against the Raiders on the Thursday trip to McConnelsville with the Raiders just edging by West by a score of 8 – 7.

Vs. Ridgewood (3/25)

The Lady Generals brought their bats on Tuesday as they visited Tornado country, leading the game from the second inning on to beat the Lady Tornadoes by a score of 8 – 2.
