Vs. Morgan (4/16)
The Lady Panthers hosted the Morgan Raiders on Wednesday in Maysville. After holding Morgan scoreless in the top of the 1st, the Panthers jumped out to an early lead when Kam Brooks scored on an error. Morgan answered back in the top of the 3rd inning when P. Lanning scored on a walk to tie up the game at 1. Myers doubled in the next at-bat to score Rush and Kangas, giving the Raiders a 3 – 1 lead. Next up, York doubled to center field, bringing home Keirns and Myers. York scored later in the inning on a passed ball, in the same play Rush singled to bring home Baker to end the top of the inning, up 7 – 1 over Maysville. The Panthers’ batting lineup went down in three to bring up the top of the 4th inning. Parsons scored for Morgan on a single hit by Kangas to take their lead to 8 – 1 before Tumblin ended the inning with a strikeout. Johnson, Milatovich, and Mitton all went down with hits but just couldn’t make it on base in the bottom of the 4th. Maxwell scored for the Raiders in the top of the 5th when Parsons was hit by a pitch, and Augenstein scored on a walk, followed by Keirns hitting into a fielder’s choice, allowing Rush to score. Myers hit a single to first base, giving Welsh time to cross the plate. And just before the last out of the inning, Myers stole home base, and Maxwell doubled to bring in Baker and Clawson for a total of 15 – 1 against Maysville. The Panthers went down quickly in the bottom of the 5th to end the game.
Vs. New Lexington (4/15)
On Tuesday in Maysville, the New Lexington Lady Panthers came to play, blasting out of the gate with a 9 – 0 lead, started off by a score by Burkhart when Metzger was hit by a pitch, followed by two runs by walk, and a double by McCoy to land Torres and Buckman on home for 6 – 0. McCoy scored on a passed ball, and then Dupler tripled to left field to bring in Burkhart and Greene for the 9 – 0 start. Three quick outs for Maysville, and Pyle doubled for New Lex to bring in their 10th run before the bottom of the 2nd inning. Maysville hit the scoreboard in the bottom of the 2nd when Avi Wilson doubled to bring home Sophie Dennis to end the inning down 10 – 1. Burkhart stole home for New Lex in the top of the 3rd before Maysville shut them down 11 – 1 New Lex. The visitors went on to tack on two more runs in the top of the 4th inning and three in the top of the 5th. Maysville was not able to recover and lost the game 16 – 1.
The Lady Panthers play West Muskingum at home on Monday, with the game to start at 5 PM.
