Vs. Philo (5/14)
On the Road against Philo, the Lil’ Muskies were hoping to get a win. Philo jumped out to a 1 – 0 lead after a double by Phillip brought in Gooden for a run. followed by Radcliffe singling to drive in Phillip to lead 2 – 0. The Electrics grabbed another run in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Tom doubled to bring in Gooden for the 3 – 0 lead. Townsend singled in the top of the 3rd to allow Woodard to score, followed by Merry hitting into a double play that allowed Howard to score to narrow Philos’ lead to 3 – 2. Runkle hit a single in the bottom of the 6th inning to build the lead to 4 – 2. John Glenn bounced back in the top of the 7th inning to grab a run off a single by Townsend and one by Merry to tie the game at 4 – 4. In the bottom of the 8th inning, Payton reached on an error to win the game with a score of 5 – 4.
vs.New Lexington (5/12)
The Lil’ Muskies headed out of Muskingum County to face the New Lexington Panthers. John Glenn started the game with two runs on two singles to give them the 2 – 0 lead. New Lex came back in the bottom of the inning to grab two runs off a single by Hahn. Hahn then scored on an error to take over the lead 3 – 2. Pearson singled to bring in Shumate and Fortner to lead 5 – 2. Woodard singled in the top of the 2nd inning to bring in Cameron to draw closer with New Lex still ahead 5 – 3. Toth scored for New Lex on a single by Stenson to jump up to 6 – 3. Metzger scored on a walk, 7- 3. A double from Hoff brought the Muskies closer by a score of 7 – 5. Narrowing in, the Muskie’s Edwards hit a double to drive in Townsend, 7 – 6, New Lex. Miller singled for the Panthers to drive in Pearson and Metzer, 9 – 6. John Glenn tried to rally back with a double and a single in the top of the 7th, but they fell one run shy and lost 9 – 8.
Vs. Heath (5/10)
On Saturday in Heath, the Bulldogs came out swinging as they took a 3 – 0 lead after the 1st inning. By the bottom of the 2nd inning, a double and a group of singles led to the Bulldogs leading by a score of 7 – 0. Hoff hit a double for John Glenn in the top of the 4th, driving in Wise. Stambush scored on a pop-up to drop the lead to 7 – 2.. A sixth inning rally locked in the win for New Lexington as they plated five more runs to win by 12 – 2.
Vs. Crooksville (5/9)
The Ceramics traveled to New Concord on Friday to face the Muskies. It was an even matchup at first, with both teams tied 1 – 1 after two innings. John Glenn had a 3 – 2 lead in the 4th inning. Crooksville pulled together two runs in the top of the 7th inning, and John Glenn was unable to answer back so they fell to the Ceramics by a score of 4 – 3.
