Vs. St. Clairsville (5/13)
John Glenn hosted St. Clairsville on Tuesday, as they opened the game with a triple strikeout against their opponents. Kinley Porter hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Addison Babcock for the 1 – 0 lead. Kendall Snider dished out three more strikeouts from the mound. Babcock singled in the bottom of the 2nd to bring in Delaney Bell to take a 3 – 0 lead. Bella Daniels hit a single in the bottom of the 3rd to bring home Porter, and Bell singled to bring in Daniels to lead 5 – 0. A walk, a triple, and a single made it an eight-run inning to end the game with the winning score of 11 – 0.
Vs. Philo (5/08)
The Lady Electrics came to New Concord on Thursday, and John Glenn was certain they would not be much of a challenge, but the Philo girls held their own for the first three and a half innings. The Muskies grabbed their first run in the bottom of the 4th inning when Bell sacrificed a hit to bring home Harper for a 1 – 0 lead. Bell singled in the bottom of the 5th, scoring Porter and Daniels and pushing the lead to 3 – 0. Babcock homered for John Glenn in the bottom of the 6th, followed by a triple from Matheney to let Porter score, followed by Matheney scoring on a steal of home base to lead at the end of the inning by a score of 6 – 0. After three straight outs in the top of the 7th, the Muskies had a shutout 6 – 0 victory.
Vs. Tri-Valley (5/0)
John Glenn headed to Dresden on Wednesday to Kenny Wolford Park, where they were hoping to upset the Scotties. Tri-Valley jumped out to the early lead with a run in the bottom of the 2nd inning, but the Muskies recovered quickly. Porter hit a double in the top of the 3rd to bring in Brown and tie up the game. Miller grounded out in the next at-bat to bring home Porter on an error to take the lead 2 – 1. Porter scored at the top of the 5th on the ground out by Maldenado, 3 – 1 Muskies. Keffer Homered for Tri-Valley to narrow it back to 3 – 2. Bell doubled later in the inning to tie up the game at 3.. In the bottom of the 7th inning, Paiton Murphy hit a two-run homer to instantly win the game 5 – 3.
Vs. New Lexington (5/01)
In the neighboring county, the Lil’ Muskies went to face the Panthers on Thursday. Both teams were struggling to get off of the ground in the first two innings, but in the top of the 3rd, Babcock sacrificed a fly ball to bring home Wunder to lead 1 – 0. New Lex tied up the game in the bottom of the 7th with a single by Metzger. Snider singled for John Glenn in the top of the 8th inning to bring home Porter and grab back the lead at 2 – 1 to win the game after three straight strikeouts by Snider on the mound for John Glenn.
