Saylor Starkey taking top marks in gymnastics among five neighboring states

Tri-Valley Freshman and gymnastics standout Saylor Starkey has been competing in state and national gymnastics competitions from a very young age.  Saylor just won level 10 gymnastics in Ohio in vault and beam.  She was 2nd all around and also 2nd on floor.  Starkey’s beam was the highest scoring junior level routine and 2nd highest out of all level 10s in Ohio.  In her recent level 10 regional competition, Saylor won beam (9.725), placed 2nd on vault (9.675), 2nd on floor( 9.65), and 3rd all around out of the best gymnasts from 5 area states.

“Saylor has been going to gymnastics since she could first walk. She started here locally at Champion. Around age 4, we quickly saw she was not like other children and was advancing very quickly. At age 7, she competed at level 6! That same year they decided to start training her for the TOPS program. She tested as an 8,9, and 10-year-old and made it into the top 100 gymnasts in the country all three years. She then went to nationals tops testing at the Karolyi Ranch in Texas, which was the Olympic training site. She soon after started training in Westerville at buckeye gymnastics.” stated Ashlee Jasper Starkey.

Look for Starkey to go far in gymnastics and congratulate her on how well she has done!
