Tri-Valley softball loses a late scoring game to Dover after downing three conference foes

Vs. Dover (5/14)

The Lady Dawgs traveled to Dover to play the Crimson Tornadoes on Wednesday.  The two teams were so equally matched that each pitcher was shutting out the batting lineup. The game went scoreless until the bottom of the 7th inning when Dover’s Lint scored on a wild pitch to take the walk-off 1 – 0 victory.

Vs. Zanesville (5/12)

Kenny Wolford Park hosted the Lady Blue Devils on Monday.  Zanesville was quick to action, landing a run from Tabler off of a single hit by Robinson to jump out to a 1 – 0 advantage. Cydnee Wolford doubled in the bottom of the 1st inning to drive home B Cox for the tying run. Alivia Reffitt hit a ground ball to jump ahead 2 – 1. Ally Peterson hit a three-run homer to take the lead to 5 – 1 against the Blue Devils. A couple of batters later, Gerran Matthews scored on a wild pitch. Paiton Murphy doubled to send home Katelyn Paxson and Joelle Moreland for a score of 8 – 1. Wolford singled in the next at bat to send in B Cox.  Alivia Reffitt hit a two-run homer to set the score at 11 – 1 after just one inning. Wolford opened scoring in the second inning with a single to center field to send Delaney Bell across home plate. Moreland scored on a wild pitch, Cox and Wolford gained a run each off of a single by Reffitt, 15 – 1. McCarty doubled in the bottom of the 3rd to send in Matthews, 16 – 1 TV.  Hutton came on to single in the bottom of the 4th inning to send Wolford home, and a sacrifice fly from McCarty scored Cox, ending the game with Tri-Valley taking the 18 – 1 win.

Vs. Meadowbrook (5/9)

The Meadowbrook Lady Colts came to Dresden on Friday.  Combs singled for the Colts, allowing Vargeson and Wiggins to score. Norman hit a two-run home run to put Meadowbrook in the lead 4 – 0. Peterson answered back for Tri-Valley in the bottom of the inning with a single that drove in Wolford, but after one inning, they still trailed 4 – 1. Peterson stepped up again in the bottom of the 3rd inning to hit another single, this time sending home Wolford and Reffitt to close the gap down to just one run at 4 – 3 Colts. Delaney Bell hits a single a few plays later to drive home Peterson and Matthews to take the lead at 5 – 4.  Reffitt scored in the bottom of the 5th off of a bunt by Peterson.. Delaney Bell singled, and that brought in Matthews for a score of 7 – 4.  The Lady Dawgs picked up one more run in the bottom of the 6th, answered back by Meadowbook, but the Colts fell short of catching up and lost to Tri-Valley 8 – 4.

Vs. John Glenn (5/7)

On Wednesday night at Kenny Wolford Park in Dresden, the Lil’ Muskies came to challenge Tri-Valley.  The Lady Dawgs jumped out to 1 – 0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd.  John Glenn answered back in the top of the 3rd inning with a two-run score that gave them the lead 2 – 1. Even after the Muskies added another run, the Dawgs came back with a pair of two-run innings to wrap up the game with a 5 – 3 win.
