Fourteen years after leading the Tri-Valley Scotties as starting quarterback, Frazeysburg native Cameron West is set to lead in a new way—as Principal of Tri-Valley High School. The Tri-Valley Local School District announced today that West has been named High School Principal for the upcoming 2025–2026 school year.
A 2016 inductee into the Tri-Valley Athletic Hall of Fame, West has served the district since 2014 as a science teacher and Assistant Principal. He brings a deep understanding of the school community and a strong commitment to student success.
“I’m honored to take on this new role and continue serving the students, staff, and families of Tri-Valley,” said West. “This school and community have shaped who I am, and I look forward to giving back in this new capacity.”
With West stepping into the principalship, the district will also see a new leader on the football field. At its June meeting, the Tri-Valley Board of Education plans to recommend veteran coach and current high school English teacher Joshua Wright as the next Head Football Coach of the Scotties.
Wright brings nearly three decades of coaching experience and a history of leadership and development in high school football programs across Ohio.
His coaching career includes:
• 28 years of coaching experience
• Hamilton Badin High School, Class of 1993
• Capital University, Class of 1997
Coaching History:
• Lakota West High School (1997 – Junior High; 1998–2000 – Freshman)
• Badin High School (2001–2003 – Varsity Assistant)
• Tri-Valley High School (2004–2007 – Varsity Assistant)
• Berne Union High School (2008–2009 – Head Coach)
• Philo High School (2010–2023 – Varsity Assistant)

Coach West expressed full confidence in Wright’s leadership, stating, “Coach Wright has the experience, character, and passion to lead our football program. I’m confident the team won’t miss a beat under his direction.”
