Vs. Crooksville (5/21)
The Panthers jumped on the bus to head right up the road to nearby Crooksville on Wednesday. The pair of defenses were working well during the 1st inning as each team was kept scoreless until Crooksville’s Mount scored on an error, followed by Dennis scoring on a steal of home. Lane bunted, allowing Cottrell to score, giving the Ceramics a 3 – 0 lead. Sprankle hit a single to center, allowing Savage to score for the Ceramics, upping their lead to 4 – 0 in the bottom of the 3rd. Cottrell and Lane scored for Crooksville in the bottom of the 4th on a wild pitch. White and Savage both scored on an error later in the inning, ending the 4th up 8 – 0 over Maysville. In the top of the 5th inning, Bryce Fisher scored on a walk, followed by Ryan Parmer hitting a single to bring in Kolton Gifford and Kale Riley, but fall short of catching up to the Ceramics, and the game ends with the hosts taking the 8 – 3 win.
Vs. John Glenn (5/20)
In the pouring rain on Tuesday, the Panthers took on the Lil’ Muskies in New Concord. The beginning of the game started out slowly, with neither team scoring in the first inning. It was the Panthers who lit up the board first with Jake Deal hitting a single to center field to bring home Parmer and Trevor Hague. Gifford grounded out, bringing home Slade Shreve and giving the Muskies a 3 – 0 lead. In the bottom of the 3rd, John Glenn’s Wise doubled to grab two RBIs in the form of Howard and Townsend. Stambush hit a single in the next play to bring home Edwards, and Wise scored on the throw to surpass a tie and jump into the 4 – 0 lead over Maysville. The defenses for both teams ramped it up, and the next several Innings stalled the batting lineup for both teams until the bottom of the 5th when Hoff hit a single for John Glenn and brought in Edwards, leaving the score at JG 5 – Maysville 3. In the bottom of the 6th, Edwards doubled to drive home Howard. Stambush singled on a line drive to right field, scoring Townsend and Edwards tto build up their lead to 8 – 3. Fisher scored on a passed ball in the top of the 7th, but the Panthers still fell to the Lil’ Muskies 8 – 4.
Vs. River View (5/19)
On Monday night, the River View Black Bears traveled to New Concord to play the Lil’ Muskies. From the starting whistle, the Warsaw team jumped out to a 3 – 0 lead. Maysville landed a run in the bottom of the inning, but still trailed by two as River View gained another two runs in the top of the 2nd to lead 5 – 1. Maysville came back for two runs in the bottom of the 3rd, but were still just behind the Black Bears 5 – 3. River View pumped out three more runs in the top of the 4th inning, but the Panthers smashed out four runs of their own. The final minutes of the game gave the Panthers just the time they needed to power out three more runs to take the game 10 – 8.
