Competitive careers start at Zane State College: NEW Manufacturing Certificates offered fall 2023

submitted

Earlier this week, the Ohio Semiconductor Collaboration Network unveiled the state’s new semiconductor manufacturing curriculum. Designed to stand alone or as part of a degree program, students will have the skills to secure entry-level employment needed for this new industry. While the final details are still being finalized, students interested can still enroll this fall in Zane State College’s manufacturing certificates.

Below are highlights of manufacturing certificate offerings:

Integrated Manufacturing Certificate

As the manufacturing industry rapidly evolves, current and up-to-date skills are essential for a successful career. Zane State College has resources and tools ready for you–from computer software and technology to hydraulics and pneumatics. Understanding that work/life balance is important to our Integrated Manufacturing Technology Certificate students, classes are scheduled for only two days a week, which allows students to work on their days off. Upon completion, students will earn a Zane State College certificate and be eligible to test for Certified Production Technician (CPT) and Certified Production Technician Plus (CPT+) industry certifications. Salaries for those with this certificate earn around $59,000/ year.*

Advanced Integrated Manufacturing Certificate

From robotics to consumer goods, ‘advanced manufacturing’ is changing how items are made. High-impact careers in advanced manufacturing combine electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science. Advanced Manufacturing Technology Certificate students learn adaptability in production processes, machine components, 3D machine operations, semiconductor manufacturing processes, and more. The manufacturing industry will have 115,000 new jobs in the United States over the next ten years. According to the Zanesville Times Recorder, Intel alone needs 3,000 employees, 2,000 of which must be technicians. Zane State College Advanced Manufacturing Certificate Program will provide students with the perspective and adaptability they need that hiring managers will be looking for.
