Lil’ Muskies softball team is taking it in stride as they hold a 1 – 1 record

John Glenn vs West Muskingum (3/28)

The Lil’ Muskies fell to West Muskingum by 5 – 2 on Thursday.  West M opened the scoring in the third inning after Cadence Puckett singled, scoring two runs.  

Addy Antonetz scored two runs on a homer to center field off of the sixth pitch of her at bat.  

Estelle Matheney hit a triple to center field that drove in two runs for John Glenn as Daniels and Babcock each scored.   West M was able to tack on one more run for the night leaving the Muskies with a 5 – 2 loss.  

Cadence Puckett earned the win for West Muskingum she surrendered three hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking six.

Sydney Marshall took the loss for the Muskies, she went seven innings giving up five runs on four hits, striking out 13 and walking three.

The Muskies next game is set for Friday, April 5th at Steubenville, game time is 5PM.  They will be back on their home field Tuesday, April 9th when they face Sheridan at 5PM.

John Glenn vs Dover (3/27)

The Lil’ Muskies softball team traveled to Dover on Wednesday evening for a match against the Crimson Tornadoes.  After what looked like it was going to be a quick inning for the Muskies, Sydney Marshall stepped up to the plate and plastered a two-run homer on a line drive to center field bringing herself and Addi Babcock across the plate before the end of the inning.  

Dover held John Glenn at the two runs until the top of the third inning when Marshall hit a hard grounder and reached base on an error by the second baseman which again brought in Babcock.  

Pitching was great on both sides of the field as the Muskies struck out 15 while Dover struck out 12.
