Area Athletes excelled at OHSAA Division II State Championship

OHSAA Division 2 State Championships 2025 held at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, on June 6th and 7th.  Out of the 343 teams competing during the two-day event, these area track stars did exceptionally well.

John Glenn’s Ethan Zell took 15th in the Boys 800 Meter Run at a time of 2:12.32

Philo’s Aidan Mahon took first place with a mark of 6-6 in Boys High Jump, earning a ticket to Nationals and 8th place in Boys Long Jump with a mark of 21-7

John Glenn’s Jessica Church came in at 7th place in the Girls 400 Meter Dash with a time of 56.94

John Glenn’s Ashlynn Kuklica came in 7th in the Girls 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:14.23 and 7th in the Girls 1600 Meter Run with a time of 4:56.35

John Glenn’s Brayden Snider took 9th place in the Girls Long Jump at a mark of 16-9 and 5th in the Girls Pole Vault with a mark of 11-8

Philos Delylah Boetcher took 13th place in Girls Pole Vault with a mark of 10-0

Maysville’s Bella Van Wey took 16th in the Girls Discus with a mark of 112-5 and 4th in the Girls Shot Put with a mark of 41-11.5. She also earned All-Ohio Honors as well as Academic All-Ohio. Bella qualified for Shot Put and Discus in the Adidas Track Nationals to be held in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Friday, June 20th.
