Vs. Post 11 17U (6/24)
Zanesville Post 29 Senior Legion headed to Lancaster on Tuesday to face the Post 11 17U team. Zanesville picked up two runs off of a double by Mahki Murray that brought in Jaxson Better and Soloman Norris, followed by a sacrifice fly from Coen Grandstaff that brought Murray across home plate to start the game up 3 – 0. Post 11 grabbed two runs in the bottom of the 1st, but still trailed by one. Quinton Warden scored at the top of the 2nd on a single hit by Hayden Purdue to bump the lead to 4 – 2. Post 11 tied up the score in the bottom of the inning to 4 – 4, and after a scoreless top of the 3rd for Zanesville, Lancaster had a five-run rally in the bottom of the inning to jump out ahead 9 – 4. Murray singled to drive home Landon Foster and Jaxson Better in the top of the 4th to narrow the gap to just three runs, but Post 11 took those runs back in the bottom of the inning to lead 11 – 6. Noah Darnes singled to center field in the top of the 5th to bring home Grandstaff, but Zanesville was not able to add any more to their score and fell to Post 11 by a score of 11 – 7.
Zanesville Post 29 Senior Legion will be back on the field at Gant Stadium on Friday against Morgantown Post 2 with a gametime of 6 PM.
Vs. Mid-Ohio Magic 18U (6/22)
The Senior Legion hosted the Mid-Ohio Magic 18U on Sunday at Gant Stadium. After a one, two, three inning against the Magics, Zanesville’s Murray grounded out to shortstop, bringing home Better to lead the game 1 – 0. Mid-Ohio tied up the game in the top of the 2nd inning. In the bottom of the inning, Darnes singled to third base to bring home Foster for a 2 – 1 lead before Mid-Ohio rallied in the top of the 3rd for four runs to jump out to a 5 – 2 lead. In the bottom of the 4th inning, Jensen Parry scored on a sacrifice fly from Darnes, followed by a run from Grandstaff made possible by a single from Tre Butcher. Later in the inning, Better singled to center field, bringing home Butcher and Warden to tie the game and take back the lead at 6 – 5. Hayden Perdue scored the final run for the Senior Legion on a single from Butcher in the bottom of the 5th to finish the tally and take a 7 – 5 win over Mid-Ohio.
