Maysville boys soccer fell to Zanesville and Rosecrans after taking down West Muskingum

Vs. West Muskingum (9/30)

The Panthers rode the bus over the hill to neighboring West Muskingum High School on Tuesday. The first half of the game was a draw, with both teams scoring a goal and ending the half at 1 – 1.

When play continued, the Panthers shut down the Tornadoes’ offense and punched in the go-ahead goal to win the match 2 – 1.

Trevor Hague and Carson Shockley made goals for the Panthers.

Vs. Zanesville (9/27)

Just down the road at Zanesville High School, the Blue Devils hosted the Panthers Saturday for a non-conference match. The Devils controlled the field, jumping way out ahead 4 – 1 by the end of the first half.

The second half of the game was a 2 – 2 draw between the Panthers and Zanesville, but the damage was already done, and the Blue Devils took the 6 – 3 win.

Senior Cyle Farnsworth, classmate Trevor Hague, and junior Carson Shockley each had goals for the Panthers.

Vs. John Glenn (9/23)

Maysville hosted the Lil’ Muskies Tuesday night for a soccer matchup. The Panthers had high intensity and really capitalized on that in the first half of the game, pulling out to a 2 – 1 lead before the break.

Back on the field, John Glenn answered back in the second half, scoring 3 – 1 and taking the 4 – 3 win over their hosts.

Cyle Farnsworth had a goal, and Carson Shockley had two for the Panthers.

Vs. Bishop Rosecrans (9/20)

The Bishops traveled the short distance to Maysville High School to play the Panthers on Saturday.  The teams were pretty evenly matched, but the Bishops grabbed the advantage and held it for the 2 – 1 win.

Carson Shockley had the only goal for the Panthers.
