Vs. Dover (10/22)
The Dover Crimson Tornadoes pulled off a strong showing Wednesday evening, defeating the visiting Tri‑Valley Scotties 3-0 in West Lafayette for the district playoff match.
From the opening whistle, Dover asserted itself, controlling the pace and exploiting openings in Tri-Valley’s defense. The Scotties, who entered the game with a 9-7 record, struggled to generate sustained pressure and were unable to break through.
Dover found the net three times over the course of the match, while Tri-Valley was held scoreless. Tri-Valley mounted a few attacks but failed to convert the opportunities they created. The Tornadoes’ defense held firm throughout, preventing Tri-Valley’s offensive leaders from finding rhythm or space. Momentum firmly swung in Dover’s favor early on, and by maintaining composure, they kept Tri-Valley at bay for the full 90 minutes.
Jemma Hinkle and Priya Moore each had three shots on the goal for the evening. For the Lady Dawgs, the loss ends their postseason run this year.
Vs. Steubenville (10/20)
Monday night’s contest was a statement win for Tri-Valley. The Lady Dawgs, seeded No. 4 in the Division III East District bracket, traveled to face the No. 2 seed Steubenville Big Red and left with a convincing 3–0 victory to punch their ticket to the district finals.
Tri-Valley’s offense delivered when it mattered, while the defense—and in particular the goalkeeper Klara Drummonds—stood tall to preserve the clean sheet. Senior forward Maddie Garber scored two of the goals, and Caydee Shoenleben added the third along with an assist.
Early on, Tri-Valley set the tone by keeping their cool and taking their chances when they came.
The Scotties’ defense was very disciplined, limiting Steubenville’s high scorers. The Big Red had averaged nearly six goals per game coming into the matchup.
Drummonds’ save late in the first half prevented a potentially momentum-shifting goal. That seemed to give Tri-Valley confidence going into the second half.
Once Tri-Valley scored the first goal, the pressure shifted. Shoenleben’s assist helped the Dawgs increase their lead, and Garber’s second goal sealed the deal.
