John Glenn girls soccer postseason halted by the Crimson Tornadoes

On Monday evening, the John Glenn Lil’ Muskies girls varsity soccer team battled hard at home but came up just short, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Dover Crimson Tornadoes.

Dover was the first to strike with a goal by Birdget McCrate with 24:58 left on the clock. The Muskies tried to answer back, but couldn’t get past the Crimson Tornadoes’ defense to make a break for the net, and they went to halftime down 1 – 0.

After the break, the Muskies piled on the effort, tight passing, aggressive runs, and control through midfield. Anna Wolfe found the net for the Lil’ Muskies with 30:19 left in the game to even the field, but the Tornadoes countered with resolve. Dover’s second goal, scored by Miley Patton, came at just the moment John Glenn believed they had the tide shifting. From that point, the Muskies pressed, seeking another tie, but the finish eluded them.

The Muskies ended their season with a Sectional Title and the Knowledge that the team that ended their run went on to be the District Champion

Faith Lemon had six saves out of eight shots for the Lil’ Muskies. Dover’s Savannah Blind had four saves out of five shots.
