Bishop Rosecrans dive into playoffs Friday against Conotton Valley

Vs. Berne Union (10/24)

The Bishops had a long bus ride on Friday to Sugar Grove to face the Berne Union Rockets. Berne Union jumped out to the lead by the end of the first quarter, up 14 – 7 against Rosecrans. In the second quarter, the Bishops turned the tables, landing 14 points of their own as the Rockets finished the half with one more touchdown to tie the score at 21 – 21 as the two teams headed to the break.

After the half was over, the Bishops came back charged and ready to play, pumping out two touchdowns in the third quarter while holding back the Rockets’ offense to jump out ahead 35 – 21 entering the final play period.  The last minutes of the game were a wash as each team nabbed a touchdown to put seven points on the board, but the damage was done by the Bishops in the third quarter, and they took home the 42 – 28 victory.

The Bishops will head off to Bowerston, Ohio, on Friday, October 31st, to play the Conotton Valley Rockets. Game time is set for 7 PM.

Vs. Millersport (10/17)

Zanesville hosted the Millersport Lakers on Friday. The Bishops dominated the game from start to finish, taking an 8 – 0 lead by the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Bishops heated up the contest, throwing down two more touchdowns while stifling the Lakers’ offense to lead 22 – 0 at halftime.

Back on the field, the Lakers couldn’t do much to slow down Rosecrans, and the Bishops added a touchdown with a two-point conversion, increasing the deficit for Millersport to 30 – 0 and implementing a running clock. Despite the expedited period, Rosecrans still capitalized on a drive in the fourth quarter to take a touchdown and complete the PAT for another seven points to reach a 37 – 0 victory over the Lakers.
