APG Architects held a grand opening celebration on Friday, June 6, to commemorate relocating to their new downtown Zanesville office.
The move starts a new chapter in the firm’s long history, which dates back to 1963.
“In the 80s, there was a firm that was called Architectural Planning Group, which was one of the successions,” explained Ryan. “When Jeremy and I became partners, we wanted something that wasn’t just a principal’s name. And so, sort of in reference to our history, we went back to APG.”
APG offers architecture and design services, owner representation and consulting services, and construction administration.
“We do everything from the ground up. So pre-planning all the way through construction administration,” explained Davis.
The move to downtown Zanesville means that the firm can be closer to their current projects and all of the excitement that is happening downtown.
“So we’ve got some really exciting stuff going on in downtown Zanesville right now,” said Ryan. “The library is a major renovation project that’s underway. We’ve actually already broken ground on Secrest Auditorium, a new addition that will be going up there over the next about year and a half. As well as the MCCFA project, which is adjacent to the Welcome Center. And then all the streetscapes in and around those two projects are all going to be completely redone. The area is being recoined as the Gateway District to downtown. So we’re really seeing it as an arts and entertainment district. So all that should be complete by the fall of 26.”
The firm has also worked with or has ongoing projects with Genesis HealthCare System, Nationwide Children’s Close to Home Center, and several area schools, including Tri-Valley, West Muskingum, Mid-East, Zane State, and Zanesville, among many others.
