Bishops boys soccer team score win-lose and a draw

Vs. Harvest Prep (9/24)

The Bishops hosted the Warriors on Wednesday in Zanesville. From the start of the match, the two teams were head-to-head on defense and offense and barely losing step with each other. Senior Amos Mulbah landed a goal for Harvest Prep in the first half of the game. The Bishops were able to match the Warriors in the first half to head to the break tied up at 1 – 1.

When play resumed, the two teams went back to defending their goals with such fervor that neither team scored another goal for the game, ending in a 1 – 1 draw.

The Bishops will take on Wellington School on Wednesday, with game time set for 7:15 PM.

Vs. Maysville (9/20)

Saturday, Rosecrans hopped on the bus for the short ride down to Maysville High School.  The Panthers started off strong, holding back the Bishops as much as they could and landing a goal from junior Carson Shockley to take a 1 – 0 lead. Rosecrans answered back with a goal by senior Makale Bowshier and another by sophomore Ethan Sandlund to finish the game out in front with a 2 – 1 win, increasing their overall record to 4 – 8.

Vs. Philo (9/18)

On the road in Duncan Falls on Thursday, the Bishops were prepared to battle the Electrics. Right out of the gate, the Electrics shocked Rosecrans when Junior Ashton Farris landed a goal to take the 1 – 0 lead.  A little while later, Farris stepped up for another successful shot on the goal that was answered back by a goal from the Bishops to end the first half down 2 – 1.

When the break ended, the Bishops worked hard to tie up the game with a goal that brought both teams to level ground at 2 – 2.  Before the clock ran out on the match, junior Cooper Krause landed a shot assisted by Freshman Coen Stutes to put Philo back on top 3 – 2. A score they held onto to take the overall victory.
