Honestly, you don’t need an excuse to visit Dresden, but if you need one, now’s your chance. The annual Ladies’ Night Out event, brought to you by the Dresden Community Association (DCA), is one of the absolute best times of the year to visit.
The event will be held on November 15 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and a lot is packed into the three-hour window. Of course, you can’t have a Ladies’ Night Out event without a wealth of shopping opportunities. Humble Heart, Smore Baskets, Smore Christmas, The Patio Shops, and Dresden’s Baskets and More will all be open, offering savings and treats. Additional businesses and pop-up merchants will be available for you to shop at as well. A free shopping bag to hold all (or at least some) of your purchases will be given to the first 75 guests who register on the day of the event.
“What’s nice is that the streets will be lit up with lights for the day and the evening,” said DCA President Darron Delancey. “We’ve asked the stores to participate in decorating their stores, so hopefully we’ll see tons of lights. The streets will be lit, and then, all the activities will be going on throughout the whole evening.”
Registration begins at 3:00 p.m. at the Dresden & Company Welcome Center located at 416 Main Street. Door prize drawings will happen every hour beginning at 5;00 p.m. A grand prize drawing at 7:15 p.m. will conclude the event. All drawings will take place at Union Square (701 Chestnut Street). A silent auction to help benefit next year’s art show will take place at Union Square as well.
The Union Square Art Show, featuring work from students and local artists, will also be held on the 15th at 701 Chestnut Street. This event begins a little earlier at 1:00 p.m. and runs until 7:00 p.m. An awards ceremony will be held at 5:00 p.m. There is no fee to attend the show.
A Make-It Take-It Ornament Workshop will be at the Dresden and Company Welcome Center (416 Main Street).
“It’s going to be splints that are going to be made into a sled, so it’s really unique how they’re going to show you how to put it together,” said Delancey. “So, basically, go, have fun, put it together, and you have a nice ornament for 2025.”
The Warehouse Restaurant, known for its legendary onion rings, will be open and participating in the event. Another great choice, Main Street Pizzeria & Pub, was just featured on America’s Best Restaurants and is locally known for its pizza and cookies.
A shopping “poker fun” (like a poker run), food and beverage, and trolley rides will all be part of the excitement.
