The Scotties Varsity Girls Basketball team is trucking along with a pair of victories over the last week that take them that much closer to the MVL title.
After back to back wins coach Kurt Kaufman’s Lady Dawgs are sitting at a 10 – 0 MVL record with 12 – 2 overall.
On Wednesday, January 8th, The Scotties met with the Maysville Lady Panthers on Rich Longaberger Court. The first half of the game started off rough for the Lady Dawgs, but they battled it out in the first quarter to end up just shy of the Maysville at 11 – 10.
The second quarter was an uphill battle for the Scotties as the Maysville defense held them to a 9-point quarter while their offense drove forward to take a 22 – 19 lead into the halftime locker room.
After halftime, the girls came out to prove that they were in the game to win with a 20-point quarter taking the lead over the Panthers 39-30.
The Lady Dawgs kept the momentum going into the fourth as they pounded forward to take a powerful win at 55 – 42 over the Panthers.
Likewise on Saturday, January 11th, against the Host Morgan Lady Raiders, the Scotties had a dominating victory of 64 – 41 keeping their MVL record as undefeated. Way to go ladies, we look forward to your next game!
