Winning six of the past seven games, the Lady Dawgs are gearing up for postseason play as they were named third seed in the OHSAA East District Tournament draw. That means they will open postseason play on their home field at Kenny Wolford Park on Wednesday, May 11th against the winner of the West Holmes vs River View game.
In the past seven games, Tri-Valley has been on point batting their way to the top aside from a late-inning score by John Glenn that caught the Lady Dawgs off guard. On Monday, May 2nd, the girls stepped up to the plate again to show Maysville what they were made of.
Stepping onto the Lady Panthers field the girls wasted no time getting on the board as a single fly ball from #15 Caity Journey made it possible for #5 Kendall Baughman to run across home base for the score. Maysville did answer back in the bottom of the first with a single run of their own.
In the top of the fourth inning, the Scotties struck up their bats with a run from #15 Caity Journey on a ground ball hit by #7 Mackenzie Hartrum who also scored on a double hit by #1 Belle Baughman. Two plays later #4 Gabby French scores on a ground ball hit by #3 Olivia Rapol who then scores on a double from #2 Falon Wolford.
Maysville tried to come back in the bottom of the fourth inning with two runs brought in on a quick double, but it was not enough to repair the damage and the win goes to the Scotties with a score of 5 – 3.
