Local eatery Main Street Pizzeria & Pub will be hosting a visit from America’s Best Restaurants (ABR) in early August 2025.
America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focusing on bringing attention to local, independently-owned restaurants, will bring its ABR Roadshow to the restaurant on August 4th. Popular dishes will be highlighted, along with an extensive on-camera interview with owners Amanda Reisinger and James Tackett about the restaurant’s special place in the community. The episode will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date.
Tackett first entered the food industry years ago when he and his brother opened a bakery, eventually expanding it to include pizza under the name D Town Pizza & Bakery, also located on Main Street in Dresden. After later pursuing a career as an electrician and working in the telecom industry, he felt the pull of the pizza business once again, and he and Reisinger opened Main Street Pizzeria in fall 2023.
“I knew there was a niche in Dresden for a different type of pizza,” Tackett told the Times-Recorder in a May 2024 article. “A new, fresh take on a traditional pizza. Each product we sell is made with pride and we love hearing feedback from customers, which by far has been overwhelmingly positive.”
Reisinger, who had built a career in higher education financial aid, may have joined forces with him as a business owner for his popular cookies, which she had been asking him to make for her.
“We had people all excited the minute they saw him out front of this place, like when we were painting,” she says. “They were like, ‘Oh, is he opening a shop again?’ And then everybody wanted to know if he was gonna have his no-bake cookies.”
He does have his no-bake cookies, along with other desserts and an array of specialty and make-your-own pizzas, strombolis, pasta, wings, subs, and salads. Dough, sauce, and toppings are prepared daily, and pizzas are available in regular crust, pan style, or cauliflower crust. A popular item that may be featured on the episode, besides the no-bake cookies, is the “cup and burn” pepperoni pizza.
“So it cups up while you cook it and burns around the edges,” Reisinger explains.
America’s Best Restaurants will be filming on location on Monday August 4th from 2 pm to 5 pm EST. The restaurant’s finished episode premiere date will be announced on their Facebook page and will be featured on America’s Best Restaurants’ website.
Restaurants featured on the ABR Roadshow are selected based on their customer reviews, menu items, social media presence, and level of involvement with their community. Main Street Pizzeria is now Main Street Pizzeria & Pub
Main Street Pizzeria first opened its doors in 2023 with their pizzas, subs, pastas, and desserts, but have quickly grown to make a better dining experience for their customers.
Velvet ice cream and the addition of an outdoor dining space are a couple of the changes made since first opening. The largest change however, is rebranding Main Street Pizzeria to Main Street Pizzeria & Pub to incorporate the restaurant’s new bar into the name. Six beers are on tap, plus slushies, non-alcoholic beer, and a cooler stocked with a variety of alcoholic beverages.
