Vs. Morgan (10/24)
Friday evening at the turf field of Philo High School, they hosted the visiting Morgan High School Raiders. From the opening snap, Morgan came out with purpose, stifling Philo’s early offensive advances and taking advantage of good field position. The Raiders scored first with a short-yard touchdown. By halftime, the Raiders had built a 14 – 6 lead that the Electrics would struggle to overcome.
Philo fought back in the second half, highlighted by a determined ground drive and a touchdown by their backs, but twice the extra-point attempts were blocked. That misfortune kept the margin just out of reach. Ultimately, Morgan held on for the 21 – 12 victory.
Vs. John Glenn (10/17)
On a crisp Friday evening under the lights, the Philo Electrics hosted the John Glenn Lil’ Muskies in a key late-season showdown. Coming in, Philo held a 5-3 record, while John Glenn was 4-4. The stage was set for both teams: the Electrics hoping to build momentum into the final stretch, the Lil’ Muskies aiming to climb out of the middle of the pack.
Philo struck early, showing good execution on offense and a defense that forced John Glenn into mistakes. The Electrics built a lead behind a balanced attack, mixing runs and short passes effectively. Meanwhile, the Muskies struggled to find rhythm, committing penalties and turning the ball over at inopportune moments. By the end of the first half, Philo was up 14 – 7.
John Glenn came out with renewed energy, senior leadership pushing the offense to move the chains more consistently. They carved out a couple of drives deep into Philo territory, but stalled near the red zone. Late in the third quarter, after a John Glenn drive stalled inside the 20, Philo responded with a quick strike — a 45-yard pass which the Electrics turned into six points. That swung momentum firmly into Philo’s favor, and John Glenn seemed unable to recover. John Glenn couldn’t hold on, and Philo won the matchup 31 – 13
