In their week 4 matchup I guess it shouldn’t be any surprise that the Scotties are out to make a point, and that point is that they are here to win! And win they did, with a shutout against Crooksville that ended with a crushing score of 49 – 0 for the Dawgs.
Now some would say that this wasn’t the best team for Tri-Valley to go up against, and they could have come out onto the field and just ran through the motions with mediocre plays and still got the job done. But, that was not the way they handled it, on all aspects of the game the team was focused, driven, and just overall on-point.
The first quarter of the game started Tri-Valley’s scoring streak with #14 Keaton Williams grabbing the first touchdown for the Scotties followed by a good extra point to get the early lead at 7 – 0. After a quick possession by Crooksville, Tri-Valley was back at it again with a touchdown pass from #6 Luke Fargus to #4 Carson Simpkins jumping the lead after the extra point to 14 – 0 Scotties.
Frantic to make something happen for the Crooksville team on their possession of the ball they fumbled it and Tri-Valley was quick to snap the ball back. After recovering the fumble the Scotties continued their barrage of touchdowns with another pass from quarterback Luke Fargus to wide receiver Carson Simpkins lighting up the scoreboard for a 21 – 0 lead to round out the first quarter of the game.
The second quarter didn’t bring any hope for Crooksville as sophomore Jordan Pantaleo trampled their defenses to get into the end zone for a 28 – 0 lead in the first 20 seconds of the quarter. The Ceramics were trying hard to get back on track to get on the board but they just couldn’t get past the Scotties defenses. They tried running the ball but each time the Scotties would stop them at the line or push them back for a loss of yards. Next they tried to pass the ball that was when defensive line back Blake Sands #22 grabbed the ball meant for the Ceramics receiver. Crooksville was able to stop the Scotties scoring charge long enough to get the ball back, but it seemed like a replay. They ran the ball with no success and then passed the ball only to have it picked off by #3 defensive back Cade Sterling. The turnover could have been costly for Crooksville but they were able to tip one of the following passes by Tri-Valley enough for #5 Brayden Glanneman of the ceramics to grab the ball and keep the score at 28 – 0 to end the half.
Halftime didn’t slow the Scotties down, #33 Jordan Pantaleo grabbed the ball and blasted into the end zone for a touchdown on the very first play after the kickoff return planting the score at 35 – 0 Scotties after the completed PAT.
#22 sophomore Blake Sands continued the blast on Crooksville as he pummeled over the goal line to kick the score to 42-0. Rounding out the Scottie scorecard for the night was #2 Blayze Taylor at the beginning of the fourth quarter of play to end the night Scotties 49 – Ceramics 0.
