The Rustic Route LLC, a custom home decor store previously located in downtown Zanesville, recently relocated to Buchanan Square. They celebrated their re-opening with a Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce led ribbon cutting on October 14.
The business is owned by Danielle Dahmen and Julie Abbott. The duo first opened the shop almost three years ago, but the need to be more visible to potential customers led to the decision to move to a new location.
“We are a custom home decor store. We also do interior design,” explained Dahmen. “This time of year, … we do a full-blown Christmas season. When Christmas season is over, we convert to everyday home decor and dabble in every season that we’re currently in.”
Speaking of the Christmas season, The Rustic Route LLC will be hosting a Holiday Open House on November 1st from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Look for details to be shared soon on their Facebook page.
“And we custom-design pieces, arrangements, wreaths. We go in people’s homes, offices and do decorating there, whether it be just a centerpiece or a whole room,” added Abbott.
“We work a lot with businesses for the Festival of Trees, decorating their businesses for the holidays as well. We’ve done several weddings. So pretty much anything you can think of in the design realm, we hit it,” Dahmen stated.
“Seeing the people’s faces when they get that item they love and take to their own home, it’s pretty special, said Dahmen.
The Rustic Route is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 4 and Saturdays 10 to 2 at 1405 Maple Ave., Zanesville. You can also follow The Rustic Route LLC on Facebook.
