As fall draws closer the temperatures were great on Friday, September 4th, at the M.A.C in South Zanesville, as The Dawgs traveled to take on the Maysville Panthers for their second game of the season.
The game started off slowly with a battle of the defenses as the two teams went back and fourth on the field both narrowly escaping a score from the opponent until there was only 1:43 left in the first quarter. Number 19 Quarterback Aidan Fritter pushed the ball into the endzone from the 1-yard line to put the Scotties on the board followed by #18 Coleson McCullough’s point after to take the lead at 7 – 0 Tri-Valley.

Both teams had pretty similar passing yardage for the game but rushing was a different story with TV taking 3 times the amount of yards on foot including a number of first downs carried by #22 Blake Sands who punched the ball through for a 4-yard touchdown with 5:54 left in the first half of the game to pop the Dawgs score up to 14 – 0 against the Panthers.
After halftime, #2 Jordan Pantaleo helped force the Panthers down field time after time until he popped in a 2-yard touchdown of his own with McCullough’s PAT raising the TV bar to 21 – 0.

Maysville tried to muster up enough defense to keep Tri-Valley at bay but the fourth quarter brought another touchdown on a 16-yard run from Pantaleo that lit up the board with 28 – 0 Scotties. As the game drew to a close #24 Luke Hill ran the ball 17-yards into the endzone to finish off the score for the Dawgs at 35 – 0 against Maysville with Coleson McCullough 5 – 5 on the evening with point after attempts. This week the Scotties take on the Philo Electrics at Sam Hatfield Stadium in Duncan Falls on Friday the 11th.
