Tri-Valley and Philo opened their seasons facing one another in a league match on Tuesday evening at Philo. The Scotties had a slow start, but maintained quality possession throughout the first half. The Scotties buried 5 goals in the first 40 minutes and found the back of the net 8 more times in the latter half of the match. The second half the Scotties picked up their communication and had 90% possession of the ball. Philo only had one shot for the match and neither Felumlee or McClellan were tested on frame. The Scotties will resume play vs West Holmes away on Saturday evening 8/25 beginning with Junior Varsity at 5:30 PM and Varsity to follow. The Varsity squad is packed with 13 Seniors and 7 Juniors on its roster, bringing experience and depth to every position. The Junior Varsity roster has 9 returning Sophomores and 5 Freshman.
Tri-Valley is proud to announce the addition of Coach Greg Comstock, who is a Tri-Valley Alumni who played goal keeper and defensive midfield for the Scotties for the 2012-2015 seasons. Greg has a passion for the game and is excited to watch his younger brother Lance Comstock work through his Senior year at Tri-Valley. Greg plans to enter the NAVY after the season and hopes to work on an aircraft carrier while seeing the world. Coach William Hess is entering his 3rd season with the Scotties as the Varsity Assistant and Junior Varsity Head Coach. Coach Kurt Knicely is entering his 4th season with Tri-Valley and has stepped aside from the High School level and has taken on the huge task of running the Tri-Valley middle school program. Coach Kyle Paladino is entering his 2nd season as middle school Assistant Coach. Coach Isaac Bush is entering his 4th season with the Scotties and hopes to lead his team to a run in the State Tournament at the D1 level and is seeking his 3rd MVL Title in four years.
