Vs. Maysville (9/26)
The Friday night lights were shining brightly in Maysville on Friday for the Tri-Valley Scotties. Right after the kickoff, the Dawgs were pushing ahead and jumping out to a 14 – 0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Maysville pulled out a touchdown early in the second quarter, dropping the deficit to 14 – 7. With seven minutes to go in the half, Tri-Valley made another rushing touchdown with a two-point conversion to lead 22 – 7. Maysville answered back with another touchdown to only trail by 22 – 14. With just two minutes left in the second quarter, Tri-Valley nabbed one last touchdown, but so did the Panthers, and the two teams went to halftime with the score Tri-Valley 29 – Maysville 21.
After the break, the Dawgs were quick to grab another touchdown and lead 36 – 21, followed by another touchdown just a few minutes later to increase their score to 43 – 21. The Panthers came back with six minutes left in the third to rush in a touchdown, leaving the Scotties out in front 43 – 27. By the end of the third quarter, Tri-Valley had built its lead to 57 – 27 over the Panthers and held it steady until the end of the game to get the win.
The Scotties will be on the road to Warsaw on October 3rd to face the Black Bears. Kickoff is set for 7 PM.
Vs. New Lexington (9/19)
The Panthers came to Dresden on Friday night to face the Scotties, and the first quarter couldn’t have been closer with both teams tying up at 7 – 7 before the end of the period. New Lexington held the Scotties back in the second quarter while building a 14 – 7 lead before the end of the first half.
When the game continued, New Lex kept on course and ran in a seven-yard touchdown but missed the extra point to lead 20 – 7. With under a minute left in the third quarter, the Panthers hit a big 48-yard rushing touchdown but failed the two-point conversion to build a score of 26 – 7. In the Fourth quarter, the Panthers found their way to a position to make a safe field goal and locked in the win with a final score of 29 – 7 over Tri-Valley.
