Tri-Valley Varsity Football loses to Wadsworth in Regional Semi-Final Competition

It was a blistery cold night at Dover’s Crater Stadium on November 12th, with spitting snow and heavy wind that cut right through the field.  Tri-Valley was coming in off of a big post-season win over undefeated Barberton in their first playoff game on November 5th in Green.  Likewise Wadsworth had been undefeated their entire season and was ready to battle it out with the Dawgs.

The Scotties started the night out right with a push down field after turning over possession of the ball from Wadsworth to get Kaden Bay into range to bring in a 3 – 0 field goal half way through the first quarter.  But that would prove to be the only score the Dawgs could land in this tough fought contest.

Tri-Valley tried hard to hold onto the lead all the way through to the latter half of the 3rd quarter when the defense couldn’t hold back the Grizzlies any longer and some costly penalties lead to Wadsworths first score of the night bringing the total to 6 – 3 over the Scotties.

Tri-Valley tried to answer back with a large push all the way to the wadsworth 27 yard line in hopes of making it into the end zone but unfortunately they had to turn the ball back over to Wadsworth who drove the ball down the field for their second and final touchdown of the event bringing their winning score to 13 – 3 over Tri-Valley.

The Scotties fought hard and were visibly disappointed, but we are proud of the accomplishments they had throughout the season and they did an excellent job with another MVL championship season and a great start for Coach Kevin Fell and his new coaching staff.  We look forward to seeing what the future seasons bring!
